I I am a synthwave artist but wanted to challenge myself by just creating a simple song with just two instruments - no synths allowed and this is the result.  A piano with some strings.  This song came about my last trip to Scotland.  How beautiful the landscape is during autumn.  How much I enjoy this season as the piano keys say it all. 

My song ‘Back To My Roots’ was inspired by a cherished memory of my family reminding me to stay connected to my heritage and remember them. When I moved from Scotland to The Netherlands, I was given a bear dressed in traditional Scottish attire, complete with a kilt and sporran. This song is filled with deep emotion and sentiment. 

I wrote a song called ‘Beautiful.’ Each letter of the word ‘beautiful’ has a very important meaning, which I reveal towards the end of the song. This song is dedicated to all the beautiful people I have met throughout my life.

My song ‘Better Tomorrow’ reflects on those tough days when things don’t go as planned. It’s about finding hope and reassuring myself and others that tomorrow holds the promise of a brighter day. 

The story behind "Celtic Echoes" is when I moved to the Netherlands, it was a culture shock.  I went from living among beautiful hills and mountains to a city with no greenery and completely flat terrain.  This song captures the essence of that transition and the longing for the landscapes I left behind.

The inspiration for my song ‘Celtic Horses’ stems from a cherished childhood memory. I recall gazing out of the car window during weekend visits to my great-grandparents in Scotland, mesmerized by the sight of Clydesdale horses galloping freely across vast fields. Now, as an adult, it’s rare to see these majestic horses.

The mesmerizing galactic visuals create a breathtaking backdrop, making this an unforgettable visual and auditory experience. 🚀🎶 Dancing used to be one of my favourite pastimes, but I had to give it up due to Lyme disease and Fibromyalgia. I’ve always dreamed of dancing outdoors at a concert, and while I can’t do it now, I can still cherish the dream. 

My uplifting song 'Dancing On Tear Drops' symbolizes dancing to lift one's mood, with the rain representing tear drops.

"Echoes of You” is a journey through memories, capturing moments of joy and sorrow as I leave my roots in Scotland to return to my home in The Netherlands. 

I composed a song called ‘Euphoria.’ It tells the story of meeting my Dutch soulmate for the first time at the airport. When we kissed, I knew he was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. The two weeks we spent together flew by, leaving me with an overwhelming feeling of euphoria. 

“Excluded” is a downtempo synthwave song about feeling left out. It’s about the pain of not fitting in and realizing that it’s their loss, not yours. With calming synths and thoughtful melodies, this track helps you understand yourself and find strength. If you’ve ever felt excluded, this song is for you. Remember, you are valuable just as you are, no matter what others think or how they treat you. Your worth comes from inside you. 

Fantasia came to life during a quiet, late-night session with Reason 12 DAW. My voice became the guiding force, weaving through cosmic synths to create a nostalgic yet futuristic soundscape.

The track captures the essence of exploration, blending retro synth vibes with a futuristic edge. Every note and layer reflects the freedom and creativity that come from losing yourself in the music. 

I composed a song called “Forget” that encourages me to move forward and leave the past behind. Although it’s challenging because memories resurface, the song reminds me to keep striving ahead. We all have things that trouble us, but it’s important to keep trying to move forward if we can. After all, we only have one shot at life, so we should try to make the most of it. 

🎵"Heaven's Breath". 🎶This one's special. It's not just a song, it's a tribute to the strongest woman I know - my mum. She's been battling terminal cancer with a courage that's beyond words. 🎗️💪

In this track, you'll hear me singing random "oh e ah", each note carrying a prayer, a hope, a wish. 🎤🎼

This song is about her journey, her fight, and the hope that she will be at peace, with no pain, in heaven. 🕊️🌈

My song “Keep Going” was inspired by the challenges life throws at us, both mentally and physically. It’s about not giving up and finding new ways to keep moving forward, even when you can’t do things the way you used to. I had to give up jogging, aerobics, and line dancing, and now I focus on gentle exercises like walking on a treadmill. Living with chronic Lyme disease and fibromyalgia has limited what I can do, but it hasn’t stopped me from finding ways to keep going. 

Midnight Train 🌙🚂 - This is a synthwave track I made with Reason 12. 🎶

Join me on a journey through the night as I board the Midnight Train, traveling alone in the dark. There is nobody on the train but me. Thoughts swirl in my mind, but all I can think about is getting home to my safe place to prepare a warm hearty meal. 🍲✨

Nocturnal Shadows emerged when my twin sister challenged me to create an ambient track for the first time. This dark ambient piece captures the essence of my fear of the dark. Imagine being alone in a forest, surrounded by shadows. This track is a reflection of those emotions and the eerie atmosphere of the night. 

"Ocean Blue"came about after a visit to the beach.  My bare feet in the water soothed all my aches and pains while emptying my head of thoughts.  I found myself thinking that maybe one day I will see my favourite creature of the sea, a dolphin.

My Rising Above song reminds me to pick myself up when I am feeling low as life has its difficult moments. To rise above again and carry on the best I can. I hope this song helps you too. Sending you all some positive vibes.  

My daughter asked me to create an angry song, so I delved into my sound library and selected some intense, angry sounds. This is the result. I hope you enjoy it and feel the raw emotion behind it. 

“Sunset Dreams” is a synthwave downtempo track inspired by my struggle with sleep deprivation. After weeks of sleepless nights, I finally fell asleep at around 5 AM and woke up as the sun was setting. In that moment, I realized how much of the day I had missed, not being around people and making music. This track captures the emotions of that experience and the impact of sleep deprivation on creativity and connection. 🌅✨

My twin sister and I wrote a song together called 'Time To Fly'.  We want to express our deep love for our mum as she battles terminal colon cancer.

To The Moon and Back” is a song I wrote about those moments when life on Earth feels overwhelming, and you just want to escape to the moon for some peace and comfort. After spending some time there, I come back refreshed and ready to face the world again. 

The story behind the song Tranquil Thoughts came about after in October 2024 my twin sister and I within weeks of each other were rushed to hospital as we both showed symptoms of a stroke.  In the end it came down to high blood pressure due to stress and bad migraines.  It gave us both a scare and we both have to change our life styles.  Less stress, exercise and healthy food.  This song is dedicated to my identical twin Val to help lower her blood pressure as she classes my songs as music therapy. 

I created a song titled ‘Two Of A Kind.’ It’s about looking in the mirror and seeing my identical twin who is far away. I miss her deeply, and she has my name, Denise, tattooed on her arm, on the side where I would walk next to her.

I wrote a song for my niece, who lost her beloved companion dog, Tarley. I named Tarley, which is a Dutch word meaning barley. When we first met Tarley as a pup, she jumped into my toddler's buggy and fell asleep.
